Aside of being a savior for Christians and even a prophet for Muslims, he challenged traditions, religion and beliefs. He was a revolutionary character, and even today we celebrate his birth, 2016 years later. What a legend. No need for an in depth introduction.
So who would Jesus be in todays world? I believe a modern Jesus would be an entrepreneur. A leader. Someone we could trust and follow. A true inspiration for the humankind. Therefore, I shall present ten pieces of advice from the man itself:
1. Always do more than required.
Was it your business presentations, partners, meetings and relationships. Always shoot for excellence and don't settle for less.
2. Respect the golden rule.
What do you want others to do to you and for you? Do the same to them and for them. Its just that simple. So follow it.
3. You cannot please everyone. But it doesn't matter, so move on.
There will always be haters. There will always be people who don't believe in you and who don't support you. These may sometimes be even the closest to you. Move on and spend your time and energy who value your ideas and help you genuinely.
4. Move to different direction.
Have the courage to be unique. Think differently and be different. Don't do the status quo. Go high when people go low. Go right when they go left. You get the point. Just do something different and you're closer towards something great.
5. When you find your calling. Go for it.
When you find something you love and are passionate about you are halfway there. You should pursue your dreams even though it might be risky. Modern business world is extremely hectic so not taking risks will be the biggest risk you take. So take them and don't end up regretting your boring career when you're 70.
6. Know what you want.
Jesus knew that clarity was one of the keys to success. Seek for something your good at and be aware about the things you're not so good at. Self-awareness is vital for success. Know what you want to achieve and know how much you're worth. You will become unstoppable.
7. Prove your worth through actions, not words.
Respect is earned through your hard work, not your big meaningless words. So prove them wrong and don't speak high about yourself. Don't just speak about your dreams. Work quietly, deliver excellence and make your dreams a reality. Bosh!
8. Serve, serve, serve.
What Jesus and Gandhi had in common? They lived their lives in service for others and what they believed in. Some of the greatest companies are dedicated to serve others through their products and services. Look at Apple or Airbnb. Start serving. Now.
9. Think what you say & keep your promises.
Think before you speak. Words have a lot of power so don't mess up. Be truthful and keep your promises, always. Jesus was loyal, why wouldn't you be? It can take 30 years to build a reputation, but only one day to lose it. That should give you perspective. Especially when that statement came from Warren Buffet.
Jesus knew that love is the answer to everything. It all comes down to love. Find your love. Do what you love. Spend time with your loved ones. You will be happy and more likely successful. Win-win.
